4th of July

I really behind on my posts since getting back from my vacation. Marcie and I decided that we were going to do a girls only trip and left our husbands behind to fend for themselves for a week. We flew first to Kentucky to visit Jeremy and Valerie (I'll blog about that later when I get pictures from Marcie. Sadly, my camera battery decided to die while in Kentucky.) Then we drove up with them to Columbia, MD to visit my parents.

So in true Edgeworth fashion, we did something historical for the holiday. We went to Fort McHenry that inspired Sir Francis Scott Key to write the Star Spangled Banner. They had a bunch of festivies such as changing of the guard, shooting off the cannons, and hanging the King of England (no worries, it was just a dummy.)

After dinner, my dad, Marcie and I rode the Metro into D.C. to watch the fireworks. We picked a spot right by the Iwo Jima Memorial across the Potomac River from the Mall. It was amazing! To your left was the Washington Memorial, to your right was the Lincoln Memorial and right in the middle between the two were the fireworks. If you ever get the chance to see the 4th of July fireworks in D.C. make sure you go!
Then to top of a great day and keep to the Edgeworth tradition, once we got back to Columbia we enjoyed a yummy root beer float!

I want to go back next year and take Matt with me this time!
