Sunday we went to church with my parents and Jeremy and Valerie. I was having a rough day. It was a combination of pregnancy hormones, missing Matt, and missing Julian (my nephew- whom we haven't been able to see since the funeral) and Alyssa (Matt's sister.) It's funny you would think that it has been a couple of months since she passed and we have lost contact with Julian (per his father's request) that things would get easier. Some days it does and other days the grief can be pretty overwhelming. Unfortunately all those emotions hit all at once (Sunday for some reason tends be the hardest day for us- no figure.) I knew that Matt would be the only person who could calm me down. I borrowed my mom's cell and called Matt. I'm so glad to be married to such an amazing caring man. Later that day, we went to the Washington D.C. temple. At the visitor center, they had an exhibit of pictures from the space station. They were absolutely beautiful! Then we walked around the temple and enjoyed the grounds.

Monday Mom, Marcie, and I were pretty tired so we stayed in Columbia. My dad took us to this amazing french restaurant. Then we were off shopping. I know we promised Sam that we wouldn't let Marcie spend money, but she bought the cutest outfit that we had to bend the rules. Sorry Sam!
Tuesday Mom, Marcie and I rode the metro into Washington D.C. to enjoy all the great museums there. We went to the American History Smithsonian. The first wives ballgown exhibit was beautiful. The most interesting was the exhibit about President Lincoln, which celebrated his life since it is his 200 anniversary of his birth. Here's his famous hat.
Then we walked over the Natural History museum. We enjoyed the exhibits about the dinosaurs, marine life, the hope diamond, and Egyptian artifacts. We came pretty beat.

Wednesday was such a huge fiasco just getting home. We tried checking in early, but we couldn't. Then we had to wait in line for almost 2 hours to check in. We found out that our flight was delayed and we would miss our connecting fly out of Georgia home. Fortunately, they flew us out to Minnesota and got to fly first class back to San Diego. We were excited to find out that we would get to fly first class, although not sitting together (somehow we managed. :) ). We were excited to finally get home to our hubbies. It was a great trip, but next time I'm bring Matt!
